Share Capital A/c
Share Capital is the foundational ownership contribution that each member makes when joining Baptist Convention SACCO LTD. It is not just a financial commitment—it's your official stake in the SACCO’s success, governance, and future growth. This contribution is permanent in nature, meaning it is non-withdrawable during your membership, though it can be transferred or refunded upon exit, according to the SACCO’s bylaws.
What Does Share Capital Represent?
- Ownership:
By contributing to share capital, you become a co-owner of the SACCO. This means you are not just a customer, but part of a cooperative of members working toward shared financial goals. - Voting Rights:
Every member with share capital is entitled to participate in SACCO elections, vote on important decisions during Annual General Meetings (AGMs), and help elect leaders who shape SACCO policy and strategy. - Long-Term Commitment:
Share capital reinforces your loyalty and dedication to the SACCO’s long-term sustainability. It ensures that members are invested in the SACCO not just as borrowers or savers, but as partners in growth.
✅ Why It’s Mandatory
To maintain the integrity, stability, and ownership structure of the SACCO, every member must contribute a minimum share capital amount (e.g., KES 5,000). This amount:
Creates a strong financial base for the SACCO
Enables collective lending and investment to benefit all members
Qualifies you for full membership status and access to all SACCO products
This is a one-time investment, meaning once you reach the minimum required amount, you won’t be asked to contribute more unless you choose to increase your shareholding voluntarily.
🏆 In Summary:
Your Share Capital is:
The key to SACCO membership
A symbol of ownership and trust
A gateway to governance and leadership roles
A foundation for SACCO growth and financial power
